Ford Ranger spied for the first time in India, coming to take on Toyota Hilux

Ford Ranger spotted in India alongside the new-gen Endeavour

Ford has brought two of its popular global models to India, although its re-entry plans for the market remain uncertain. One of these models is the new-generation Endeavour SUV, while the other is the Ranger pickup truck. The Ranger, which debuted globally in November 2021, could potentially rival models like the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross if introduced in India. Its design features updated elements such as a distinctive front grille, C-shaped LED headlamps, LED taillights, and a tailgate embossed with the ‘Ranger’ name.

Internationally, the Ford Ranger offers a variety of petrol and diesel engine options. These include a 2.0-liter diesel, a 3.0-liter V6 diesel, and a 2.3-liter turbo-petrol engine. The transmission options vary depending on the trim level, with lower trims equipped with 5-speed or 6-speed manual gearboxes, while higher trims feature a 10-speed automatic transmission.

With its diverse engine lineup and transmission choices, the Ranger caters to different preferences and driving needs in various markets. If Ford decides to introduce the Ranger in India, it could provide consumers with more options in the competitive pickup truck segment, potentially appealing to those seeking a versatile and capable vehicle for both urban and off-road use.
