Royal Enfield Shotgun name Trademarked. What to Expect?

Royal Enfield, last week filed a patent for the name “shotgun” for one of it’s future Motorcycle. Although it’s uncertain which bike is likely to bore this name plate, but the reports suggest that it could be reserved for upcoming 650cc motorcycle.

The upcoming bikes from RE include New-Gen classic 350, Hunter 350 (scrambler) and a 650 cc dual-cylinder low slung cruiser which was being spotted testing camouflaged numerous times.

If the reports are to be believed the “shotgun” name could be reserved for upcoming 650 cc parallel-twin cruiser from Royal Enfield as the name also goes with bike’s character. And if this is the case then the motorcycle is likely to borrow the same engine from Continental-GT and Interceptor 650.


The primary competitors of Royal Enfield shotgun is going to be Kawaski versys 650 but will be positioned a bit lower-somewhere under the price tag of Rs. 4 lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Launch Date

The Public reveal however is scheduled this year later, the launch date in the Indian Market is expected to be around late 2021.
