Tata Motors, a well-known Indian automaker recognized for prioritizing safety in its vehicles, is currently offering substantial discounts on its recently launched Punch EV. Rolled out in January 2024, customers now have the opportunity to benefit from discounts of up to Rs. 50,000 on the top-tier Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC fast charger (FC) variant.
As per information from dealership sources, Tata dealerships across the country received a notable inventory of the top-tier Empowered +S LR variant, featuring a faster 7.2kW AC charger (AC FC), prior to the official launch of the Punch EV on January 17. To manage this surplus inventory, dealerships are providing a flat discount of Rs. 20,000, coupled with insurance benefits and additional dealer discounts. These collective discounts could total up to approximately Rs. 50,000, depending on the remaining unsold inventory. However, it’s important to highlight that the maximum discount of Rs. 50,000 is specifically applicable to the top-of-the-line Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant.
Most Tata showrooms reportedly have between five to ten units of the Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant available for purchase with these discounts. With these incentives, the price of the top-tier Punch EV model could potentially drop to Rs. 15 lakhs from its original Rs. 15.49 lakhs. Despite the discounts, Tata’s highest-tier Punch EV remains competitively priced compared to its primary competitor, the Citroen eC3 Shine Dual Tone Vibe, which is priced at Rs. 13.49 lakhs ex-showroom.
The Punch EV Empowered +S LR AC FC variant boasts a larger 35kWh battery, providing an ARAI-rated range of 421km, and features a plethora of premium amenities including an electronic parking brake, hill-descent control, a sunroof, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and dual 10.25-inch displays.
